In reference to how people gain an understanding of new technologies during a speech at the Georgia Technology Summit.  Wise words.  It is a big part of the reason why I started blogging and using other social web applications.  If you don't comprehend you become ignorant, scared, or both.

Lance, I am curious what your definition of 'new technology' is in this context. Are you referring to things such as LAMP, AJAX and Amazon S3, which I think are true enabling technologies, or are you thinking of, say, Twitter?

Paul, Don did not really say but my answer is both. As an example, I have seen many that have not used dismiss twitter as useless when in fact it has utility.

I couldn't agree more. Exactly why I started blogging, twittering, facebook, myspace, and second life. These technologies are so different the only way to understand them is to use them yourself personally.
