CipherTrust Deal

Secure Computing is acquiring CipherTrust. Congratulations to Jay Chaudhry, Mike Van Bruinisse, Brad McArthur, Guru Rajan, and Paul Judge who were on the executive team during my time there. Everyone that I have spoken with is happy with the outcome. So am I. A lot of people worked long and hard to make CipherTrust a success.

Since the announcement Secure Computing’s stock is getting hammered. Not because of the CipherTrust deal. They also announced that they are going to miss their Q2 earnings estimate. Blamed it on the World Cup.

Mike Rothman over at Security Incite hits the mail on the head. Secure Computing can use a little of CipherTrust’s aggressiveness. Van Bruinisse would have been out on the pitch doing a head butt to get those big deals done by the end of the quarter.

If Al Gore Wants to Conserve Resources…

he should stop eating so much. Might not be a bad idea to take his own advice and ride a bike once in a while. The guy is frigging huge!

I did not see him in person or in his movie “An Inconvenient Truth”

I saw one of his speeches from the TED Conference online. They have made a number of the talks available online with a program called Ted Talks. Great stuff. Subscribe to the series.

Fred Wilson pointed the way to this for me in this post.
