I have know of Seth Godin since his Yoyodyne days. I have always thought that he was a little too cute and pretty much tuned him out after the Purple Cow thing.
I am sure Seth does not mind because he most likely has not thought of me at all.
Well I was wrong.
The good folks over at The Church of the Customer blog pointed me to a presentation that Seth gave to goog recently.
The dude is brilliant. He thinks just like me. : )
I remember giving a presentation once at a sales meeting and saying that “everthing that the company does is marketing”. I was shot down in a room of about 100 people by the CEO saying “that narrows it down.”
Seth’s statement in the presentation that every person in the company is a marketer is so so true.
I also agree 100% that the key to great marketing is making something worth talking about.
Seth now has a new blog subscriber. I was so off base, perhaps one day I will meet him and tell the story.
