Startup Weekend on MSNBC

Over the weekend NBC Nightly News aired a video about Startup Weekend that they filmed at RTP Startup Weekend.  A nice summary of what Startup Weekend is all about. Yes with a little coffee, beer and snacks you can start a business in a weekend. The next Atlanta Startup Weekend is taking place in November.

Over in the Skribit app in my sidebar someone suggested that I provide an update on the company’s recent progress.  Since it has been about three months since I last did so, that seemed like a good idea. For those of you not familiar with the company it is a product of Atlanta Startup Weekend […]

What a Startup Riot

RTEV Launches

Yesterday RTEV launched over at the Georgia Tech Conference Center.  RTEV is an electric vehicle (EV) company focused on delivering affordable electric low speed vehicles (LSVs).  The keys words here are affordable and low speed, a strategy a bit different from the high end aimed Tesla and Fisker cars that were featured in a Wall […]

Funding Risk

Back in December I started a brief series on the four categories of new venture risk.  Somehow I got sidetracked after writing about management, market, and technology risk types.  So today I thought I would close out the series with a brief discussion of funding or financial risk. Funding risk is the likelihood that a […]
