Computer Caring On The Rise

When Paul Graham declared that “Microsoft is dead” he also made the bold statement that “All the computer people use Macs or Linux now. Windows is for grandmas, like Macs used to be in the 90s. So not only does the desktop no longer matter, no one who cares about computers uses Microsoft’s anyway.” Well […]

Georgia Technology Jobs Down

AeA just released its 2007 Cyberstates report. Nationally technology jobs increased by 3% nationally, adding nearly 150,000 jobs. Alas, Georgia had a net loss of 900 jobs. The study attributes this to big losses in the Internet and telecommunications sectors. I take that to mean BellSouth, Cingular, and EarthLink. The cloud in the silver lining […]

Web 3.0 Part Two

Previously I wrote about the need for Web app integration as one of the big, but hard to solve, opportunities of the next generation Internet. Another area closely related to this is one of online identity management. My initial interest related to this area was based on the concept of user fatigue at social networking […]

Tech Chic

My dear friend Erika Jolly Brookes was on Fox News this morning. Here is the video. I always consult with EJ before buying clothing gifts for the Kokomo Kid. Fav quote from the clip, “Technology doesn’t have to look like anything other than you.” And a big BTW, EJ is as equally deep tech savvy […]

Most companies start out trying to do […]

Web 3.0 Part One

I have been interested in the concept of digital lifestyle aggregation (DLA) for some time. My most recent pain surrounding this had to do with the launch of a web site promoting our condo in Rosemary Beach, Florida. In conjunction with this we also listed the condo on a few of the online rental web […]

Exactly Four Months

Google closed the YouTube deal on November 13, 2006. Today, March 13, Viacom sued Google for $1 billion. Like others, I think this is just a negotiating tactic. It will be interesting to see how far it goes. Here are some Google actions of the past that I pulled from Infoword: Google’s announcement of its […]

Atlanta Hottie

The ATDC is a community sponsor of the Atlanta CEO Council.   As such I am generally invited to the CXO networking events (If you meet the criteria these are must attends). Anyhow, upon registering to attend the March 19 event I was presented with a little survey.  I don’t  remember the exact questions but one […]
