Yesterday afternoon a friend of mine checked in to The Commerce Club on foursquare. I had never heard of the place so I two tapped down to learn more.
Note the green special nearby call out. It led to this loyalty/promotional offer from the Red Moon Cafe.

Nice post. I've been using foursquare for about a month, but haven't noticed any specials/promotional offers yet.
There is an offer in Palo Alto at the Blue Chalk Cafe, and another I believe in Mountain View. Given that this is ground zero, you'd expect more adoption if they were pushing it - but it is a business model. I really hope they pull it off, this startup is too much fun to fail :)

Hey! I added that venue! I didn't think anybody else would ever check in there. Not the place you find typical Foursquare users... :)
